Environmental cases have included widely publicised contamination claims, residential and industrial noise nuisance disputes, judicial review challenges to environmental regulation in various sectors of the waste oil industry, and group litigation connected with the manufacturing and development of various products.
Gordon has an impressive track record of private, public, and statutory nuisance proceedings in many claims that concern issues relevant to pollution, criminal and civil, including overseas.
Gordon was instructed in the Crown Court in the first major prosecution by the Environment Agency concerning the transfrontier shipment of waste. His knowledge of international trade documentation has been of considerable assistance, having advised or provided representation for corporate and individual clients in respect of shipments destined for Rotterdam, Saudi Arabia, West Africa, Cuba and South America.
Gordon trained with the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), internationally recognised as the standard of excellence for mediators. Clients can be assured that he will listen and identify issues in order to avoid litigation altogether or seek a means of early alternative dispute resolution. Gordon developed his skills during his part-time work as a fee-paid Employment Judge.

Gordon has represented clients with cases in his specialist areas plus areas such as competition, planning, and health & safety. He has a good understanding of the EU and of data protection law, including RIPA, and is qualified in England & Wales, and in Ireland. His initial training was in insurance and shipping law.
Gordon’s litigation aim is to prevent a dispute from escalating and to bring it to the speediest conclusion if that is not possible. He has access to a wide range of additional specialist colleagues to assist him when necessary.
