Gordon Wignall has acted in leading environmental and nuisance cases, including major contamination claims, noise disputes, judicial reviews and group litigation. His work spans civil, criminal and statutory nuisance matters in the UK and overseas.
Gordon was instructed in the first major Environment Agency prosecution on transfrontier waste shipments and has advised on international waste movements across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South America.
As a CEDR-accredited mediator and former fee-paid Employment Judge, he brings strong skills in early dispute resolution alongside his specialist advocacy.

Gordon has represented clients with cases in his specialist areas plus areas such as competition, planning, and health & safety. He has a good understanding of the EU and of data protection law, including RIPA, and is qualified in England & Wales, and in Ireland. His initial training was in insurance and shipping law.
Gordon’s litigation aim is to prevent a dispute from escalating and to bring it to the speediest conclusion if that is not possible. He has access to a wide range of additional specialist colleagues to assist him when necessary.
